The Stocker Foundation - 25 Years of Giving

Beginning in 2005, The Stocker Foundation embarked upon a strategic planning process toward utilizing limited resources for greater impact in the geographic areas served. The document links found below will provide specific details regarding our refined grantmaking in the field of education. These changes reflect our renewed commitment to public education.

Toward that end, the Foundation will narrow its grantmaking to focus solely on programs/services that positively affect children, youth, and families. The Board has identified services for public school students in Kindergarten through 5th grade as its primary funding interest. For the next 3-5 years, the Board will issue RFPs (request for proposals) for direct services addressing the following: Literacy; Afterschool & Summer Programs; Supplemental Enrichment; and Wraparound Services.

If your organization’s mission and/or program offerings do not align with the Foundation’s new funding focus AND your organization has received more than one grant from The Stocker Foundation in the past five years, your organization may be eligible to apply for a “transition” grant (deadline: December 15, 2008). Please call Foundation staff to receive further information and to schedule a pre-submission interview. Confirming your organization’s eligibility with Foundation staff is a required first step in the process of applying for a “transition” grant.
